“I’m well at sea.” Like the newly-released Italian summer hit goes.
Hello! Here we are after many months of pause, with FH 117! During this period of intense offline activity, as well as self-doubt for what relates to this blog, I decided resilience was the way to go. I’ve always loved this space, since when I first hit “publish” for the first time in late May 2017. I still can’t believe it’s been 8 years since then.

So what have I been up to? Well, I embraced new ways of taking care of myself, and my health has improved tremendously. I prioritize movement, sleep and minerals while following the Mediterranean diet but with a low carb twist.
I developed a business with Airbnb Experiences in June 2023 after having been laid off during COVID in 2021. I lead two experiences, one in Rome about street art, street food, street everything! Rome is an open air museum as I’ve written in other circumstances, and I’m always amazed at how well my guests react at its stunning architecture and overall artistic scene. The other one is in Bari, my lovely hometown, and it’s a gourmet aperitif that I cook with my grandma only for women in my newly-acquired, newly-restructured studio apartment (it’s part of a set of two and both are connected by a lovely atrium). I love being my own boss.

Women have been a huge part of my life lately. In March 2023 I created a community named “Roma è Donna” (Rome is a Woman) which now has almost 250 active members. In July 2025 I created “Bari è Donna”, with almost 50 active members. It’s very rewarding and satisfying to see them grow and evolve, and how respectful the members react with each other, and how helpful we can all be just by staying close. It’s something I always wish I had when I lived abroad, so I made it a reality for other women as soon as I moved back to my home country.
Safe spaces for women of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. Support groups where once a month we meet for lunch or dinner. Places were newly-arrived women can find friendship and fun, where they can easily find services, navigate the jungle that is Rome and/or offer their services to start a new chapter of their life.
Yes, I called Rome a jungle because this is the Jubilee year and pilgrims from all over the world are flying to the city to visit at least three of the four holy sites: Basilica di San Pietro, Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano, Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, Basilica di San Paolo fuori le mura.

During my absence from typing I also finally gave in to one of my passions and developed a skin-care business with an American company where I sell products and offer three types of renewing facial demonstrations: a classic facial, a full facial and a luxury facial with somatic practice.
Lastly, I started enlarging my Instagram activity with the aim of better engaging my audience and, possibly, grow it. I want to serve more people in all the ways I can, even creating appealing collabs with other professionals in the field.

All in all, the latest months have been intense. I spent a lot of time house-searching in Bari until I found the property that best suits my needs. I spent a lot of time working and developing my businesses so I’ve had less time to explore museums overall. I promise I will go back at it stronger than ever! I have traveled through Italy many times though, and it was so refreshing getting to know my country better.
I think the next months will be centered on hard work, sea-view lunches and the realization of a few dreams I’ve kept close to my heart for years now…
I’m well at sea.
